Yellow flowers and photographing Newcastle (Hunter Valley)
We'd driven past so many of these glorious yellow fields on the way to Adelaide two and a half weeks ago, and Sienna and I had made plans to stop on the way home to take some photos. However, when our trip expanded from 6 days to 17 or so, a lot of the fields were gone that had been there before. Cut, or just more sparse flowers. And then with one boy or another asleep at various times, it seems that we would miss out altogether.
I even thought to myself, I am clearly a mother first and a photographer second, I won't wake a baby to get a good photo, LOL. Well, not on a 9 hour drive anyway. SO I really thought we would miss out but then on our way to Ballarat, almost at the freeway, there were a few last fields, all the kids were awake and we were due to stretch our legs. I pulled down a country road and we hopped out here (above)...
This boy is feeling better...
This photo (below) I actually love best in black and white, I put it up on the Curiouser facebook page, but thought I'd pop up the colour one to show you both versions.
And in Curiouser news, the lovely Kate has convinced me to visit the Newcastle / Hunter Valley area for a weekend of photo sessions! Yay! I've never been there and I do love new places.... I am thinking... perhaps... November 19-21, 26-28 or Dec 3-5 are possible dates. The session fee will be $200 (all other prices are on the price list, you can download it from the website), which includes a $50 credit for purchasing digital files or prints. As a special bonus for these sessions, all print orders (not including digital pictures, only physical print orders) will receive a free 8"x12" print of their choice!
For information, price list and galleries, check out the Curiouser website and contact Karen or myself with any questions or booking enquiries :)
